Ambulance fees and billing
As of July 1, 2026, ambulance fees are collected by Medavie Health NL on behalf of NL Health Services. For residents with a valid MCP card, there is no change to current fees.
Cost
The fees for ambulance services are:
- For patients with MCP: $115
- For non-MCP patients: $650
Please note that you will be billed if an ambulance is called, even if you are not transported to a medical centre.
Individuals with private health insurance
Individuals with private health insurance (through work or other) that covers ambulance fees should pay their invoice upfront. Once payment is received in full, we will send an official receipt by mail, and then the individual can submit the official receipt to the insurance company for re-imbursement.
